These scooters are everywhere in Seoul; they deliver fast food and other packages at any hour of the night, serve as work vehicles and are also some peoples form of personal transport.
Not only during peak traffic hours but all throughout the day and night, as a resident you have to be alert, ready to avoid the dodgy drivers. They will make full speed, left turns from the invented, right hand lane, of a 6 lane intersection, come against traffic and zip up a curb-cut and continue on the sidewalk, slaloming through pedestrians.
With the aggressive driving style delivery drivers have adopted i’m surprised the death toll isn’t higher. Not surprisingly, accidents do happen. I caught this one a few weeks back.
Are there no traffic laws regulating these motorbikes? do cops just not care? I don’t get it.
